What is it like being a kid in today's fast-paced world? It is like "having the whole alphabet inside your stomach," according to Isabella Smith, a student at Maple Elementary School and participant in Seattle Arts & Lectures' Writers in the Schools (WITS) program. During the 2007-08 school year, Smith worked with WITS writer-in-residence Fredda Jaffe, polishing her writing skills and learning how to express herself. This hard work has earned her poem a spot in this year's WITS anthology,
